Discover La Rochelle during your stay

It is one of the best known and most beautiful port cities in France: rich in history and heritage, La Rochelle attracts many visitors every year.

Make a stopover in the city known as the White City!

Visit the heart of La Rochelle

The old port of La Rochelle is a real landmark of the city and a must-see during your visit! Stroll along the quays and admire the view of the red lighthouse and its famous towers.

And why not climb one of them? Open to visitors, the Saint Nicolas, La Chaîne and La Lanterne towers open their doors to you: discover their stories and their specificities! Climb to their summits to enjoy a splendid view of the old port.

Less than 300 metres from the Tour de La Chaîne is the Tour de l'Horloge: listed as a historic monument, this former 12ᵉ century gateway separated the city of La Rochelle from its port. Its civil bell, installed in the 15ᵉ century, is the heaviest in Charente-Maritime.

Don't forget to make a diversion to the Cloître des Dames Blanches, which hosts new exhibitions every summer, or the Hôtel de la Bourse, the former headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce from 1760 to 2002 and now a listed building.

Finally, take a tour of the Aquarium La Rochelle 🐟 Admire the different basins and their 12,000 marine species for two hours. A journey from the Atlantic to the Tropics that will conquer the hearts of the youngest and the oldest!
